As China was about to become a member of the WTO, International Fair Planning Center (HK), the former body of IMCC, and the Hong Kong Newspaper Ta Kung Pao, jointly organized the International Symposium (Hong Kong) on the Standardization of Chinese Accounting Industry between 11 - 12 September 2001.
The forum aims to provide an opportunity for direct communication between the Chinese financial, auditing and accounting agencies, and entrepreneurs on understanding the international accounting standards. All industries may have a better understanding to the international standardization of the Chinese accounting industry and accelerating the execution of the standardization, preparing China to be more competitive when joining WTO.
Over 140 persons attended the Symposium, including the Senior management from the British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and directors and financial controllers of medium-sized enterprises, financial and auditing officers of the Municipal Government in China, Chief accountants from funds and securities investment companies. |
