Women Making more Political Decisions
According to the Map of Women's Political Participation in 2019 jointly released by UN Women and the Parliamentary Union, the proportion of women in the field of political decision-making is rising slowly. The proportion of women ministers in the world has reached 20.7%, and one of every five government ministers in the world is female, a record high, up 2.4 percentage points compared with 2017.
Although the types of departments headed by women are also increasing, the number of women in high-level leadership has declined, with the proportion of female heads of state dropping from 7.2% in 2017 to 6.6%, and the proportion of female heads of government dropping from 5.7% in 2017 to 5.2%.
